"See her, son?"
My father clasped my shoulder as we both watched the little girl, who was playing with her parents, the emperor and empress.
"She is your future. You will obey her every wish, no matter what, for you are-"
"-a Zacron," I finished.
He chuckled. "Good lad. We Zacrons have protected and served the royal family for centuries. It's good to see that that isn't about to stop with you, Silver."
"Thank you, Father."
We stood in silence, continuing to survey the scene before us. The princess was sitting in her mother's lap, giggling at some joke. Her face seemed alight with joy, her brown pigtails bouncing around as she laughed.
I was immediately caught in her charisma.
"What is the princess's name again?"
He sighed. "Lads these days- can't remember anything, not even..." He trailed off at my annoyed glance.
"What is it?" I pressed.
"Fine." He snorted. "I give up. It's Kotone."
